HELLWITCH: New Album Recordings Postponed
August 4, 2007Florida's death/thrashers HELLWITCH, one of the oldest and most legendary extreme metal bands, will begin begin pre-production for their sophomore album much later than previously announced. The group is now scheduled to start work on the CD, tentatively titled "Mythological Lies...Enlightened Paganus", later in the year for a 2008 release via Xtreem Music.
Open Grave Records will re-release HELLWITCH's classic album "Syzygial Miscreancy" in late October/early November as part of the Open Grave Records Underground Reissues series. It will be completely remastered and feature killer new artwork. There will be a full-color insert as well.
HELLWITCH formed back in 1984 and released several demos and 7" EPs during the second half of the '80s before issuing a highly acclaimed debut album, "Syzygyal Miscreancy", in 1990 and a mini-CD, "Terraasymmetry", in 1992. They recorded a few more demos through the '90s until they finally completed their 2005 recording, "The Epitome of Disgrace", which led to an agreement with Xtreem Music.
