HELLYEAH On New York's 92.3 K-ROCK: Video Interview, Acoustic Performance Available
August 21, 2007HELLYEAH — the new band featuring members of MUDVAYNE, PANTERA and NOTHINGFACE — stopped by the 92.3 K-Rock studios in New York City on August 17, 2007 and sat down with Jivin for a little interview action. They also took part in a special acoustic performance of the track "Alcohaulin' Ass". Watch the interview and performance footage below.
HELLYEAH has posted the video for "Alcohaulin'Ass", the second single from the group's self-titled debut album. Singer Chad Gray told The Pulse of Radio that the song came about one night when he and guitarist Greg Tribbett were working in the studio once co-owned by late PANTERA guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott. "I've heard a lot of Dime's four-track stuff," he said. "He wrote a lot of ditty kind of songs and I think that that was kind of one of his offerings to this, 'cause we always kind of felt like we had an angel on our shoulder, especially being in his space, and it was just me and Greg, you know, that were in there that night, and I really kind of feel some Dime inspiration — that kind of tongue-in-cheek kind of, it's humorous, you know, kind of thing. But it just works, man. It's a rad song. We love it."
The video for the song is mostly made up of live footage from the band's recent tours of the U.S., the U.K., Australia and New Zealand.
In addition to MUDVAYNE members Gray and Tribbett, HELLYEAH features Dimebag Darrell's brother and former PANTERA drummer Vinnie Paul, NOTHINGFACE guitarist Tom Maxwell and DAMAGEPLAN bassist Bob "Zilla" Kakaha.
HELLYEAH is currently on the Family Values tour with KORN, EVANESCENCE and others.
