HELMET Mainman Interviewed On 93.7 KCLB ROCKS! (Audio)
November 18, 2010Kevin Conklin of the 93.7 KCLB Rocks! radio station (web site) in Palm Springs, California conducted an interview with HELMET mainman Page Hamilton earlier in the month. The chat can now be streamed using the audio player below.
After wrapping a two-month critically acclaimed North American trek with a roof-raising show at the Key Club in Los Angeles, HELMET has just kicked off a month-long European tour encompassing 11 countries and 26 dates. They are armed with a setlist including their classics and material from the new full-length album, "Seeing Eye Dog". The European dates will take HELMET to some of the largest cites, including Copenhagen, Munich, Paris and London, before concluding December 17 in Glasgow, Scotland.
Looking ahead, mainman Page Hamilton describes HELMET's plans for 2011: "March 3rd to the 24th we're planning another U.S. run, and then April and May we will be Japan and Australia. Hopefully then back to Europe. Europe is four weeks this November and December, and I'm hoping we'll do either the early chunk or the late chunk of the festivals next summer."
HELMET released a new full-length album, "Seeing Eye Dog", on September 7. The band's first LP since 2006's critically acclaimed "Monochrome" and its seventh album overall was made available on the indie Work Song label (with physical distribution by Redeye and direct-to-fan digital delivery by Topspin). The CD was produced by Hamilton, with additional production by Toshi Kasai and vocal production by Mark Renk.
Hamilton is joined by drummer Kyle Stevenson, guitarist Dan Beeman and bassist Chris Traynor; HELMET's live bassist is Dave Case.
