HENRY ROLLINS Seeking New Members For His Band

February 5, 2004

Punk rock icon Henry Rollins, currently in the middle of a spoken-word tour, has revealed to The Ithaca Journal that he is in the process of looking for new group members to back him up.

"As far as my musical pursuits, I am a mediocre talent," he said, "But at least I give it my all and I always have great musicians around me.

"I want to play strange, discordant music with people who are dedicated," he added. "Playing in a band with me is like boot camp."

Asked which remaining presidential candidate he would endorse, Rollins answers that lately he likes Senator John Kerry (D-Mass.). "I like it that he has a military background," he explains. "With his experiences in Vietnam, he makes the Cheneys and Rumsfelds look like pussies."

At the same time, the almost 43-year-old singer does not really care who is going to run against the president. "I am going to vote for whoever is not George Bush," he says. "I don't think the country can take four more years of him, and neither can the working class or the environment." [Read more]
