HONEY FOR CHRIST To Release New Single

Veteran Northern Ireland heavy metal band HONEY FOR CHRIST will unleash a brand new double-A-side 7" single on Saturday, August 23 through Rundown Records. Entitled "All Hope Was Strangled", the single includes the group's first new recorded material in three years and an explosive reworking of an old favorite.

According to a press release, "All Hope Was Strangled" is "a typical HONEY FOR CHRIST riff-laden blaster and is already a well established weapon in the band's live arsenal. Featuring Andy's trademark soaring vocals and doom-laden melodies, 'All Hope Was Strangled' is HONEY FOR CHRIST at their most vicious, misanthropic and deadly. Side 2 features a real treat for old and new listeners alike, as it houses an excellent reworking of 'Orion Dust'. Initially written and recorded in 2000, this song first appeared on 'The Art Of Self Abuse And Soul Erosion' demo, and featured former singer Jason Hendry handling vocal duties. 'Orion Dust 2008' retains the dark mood and brooding atmosphere of the original and injects a healthy dose of despair, as only HONEY FOR CHRIST can."

In addition to the vinyl, this release will contain a sticker and a CD-ROM containing the two songs in MP3 format, as well as a host of other goodies to include band photos, live videos and a discography.

In celebration of this release, the band and Rundown Records have teamed up with leading local promoters The Distortion Project to launch the single with a live performance in The Limelight, Ormeau Avenue, Belfast on Saturday, August 23. Support on the day comes from London riff hounds END OF LEVEL BOSS and up-and-coming local shredders ARMY OF SCUM. Doors on the day will be at 4:30 p.m. and admission is £5.00, or £8.00 plus a copy of the single (normal retail price for the 7" will be £3.50 so you can save yourself some money!). This release will initially be limited to a run of 250, get them while you can!
