HYDROGYN Guitarist Launches URA-KIA
March 7, 2011HYDROGYN guitarist Jeff Westlake has joined forces with Jeff Boggs, Keith Ramsey and Matt Scheen in a new project called URA-KIA. The band has been holed up in the studio for the past 10 days and is nearly done recording its self-titled debut album for a late spring release. A promotional video for the CD's first single is also in the works.
According to a press release, URA-KIA "in no way affects anything to do with HYDROGYN and it is possible you will see both bands on the road together in the future."
"Judgement", the third album from HYDROGYN, sold around 1,500 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 10 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
"Judgement" was released on October 25 in Europe and October 26 in the rest of the world. The CD was made available via Bad Reputation out of Paris, France for Europe and Rapid Fire Global Music in the States and rest of the world. Each of the two versions of the album contains different artwork and different bonus tracks.
