IAN GILLAN Performs Session Versions Of DEEP PURPLE Classics, Solo Material; Video Available
May 7, 2009For the first time in 40 years, DEEP PURPLE singer Ian Gillan performed session versions of the band's classic tracks as well as songs from his new solo album, "One Eye To Morocco", on U.K.'s Absolute Radio.

"One Eye To Morocco" entered the German Media Control chart at position No. 97. The CD was released on March 31 in North America via Eagle Rock Entertainment.

Produced and recorded in Canada with maestro Nick Blagona, the music was written by Ian Gillan together with longtime collaborator Steve Morris, as well as Michael Lee Jackson and Rodney Appleby — who both performed on the "Gillan's Inn" U.S. tour, as featured on the double album/DVD "Live in Anaheim" (released through Edel Entertainment).
