ILL NINO Cancels European Tour

August 4, 2006

ILL NINO has cancelled its previously announced European tour. The group's official statement on the matter is as follows:

"It is with sincere regret that we must announce that ILL NINO will not be able to perform its upcoming European tour. Danny Couto, ILL NINO's percussionist, and also semi-pro skateboarder, was in a skateboarding accident late Wednesday night (August 2). Danny landed on his wrist and tore a ligament and is unable to use his right wrist and arm. This accident makes it impossible for Danny to perform in the upcoming European tour. ILL NINO works and lives like a family and each member is integral to every show. ILL NINO feel that performing without Danny not only takes away from the live show, but is unfair to the fans who expect nothing less than an amazing show. We promise to make up the shows as soon as possible. Thanks for supporting ILL NINO!"

As previously reported, Roadrunner Records will be releasing a "best of" collection from ILL NINO, aptly titled "The Best of Ill Nino", on September 12. The track listing for the CD is as follows:

01. What Comes Around
02. Unreal
03. God Save Us
04. If You Still Hate Me
05. Liar
06. This Time's For Real
07. How Can I Live
08. Cleansing
09. Te Amo. I Hate You
10. What You Deserve
11. This Is War
12. Turns To Gray
13. Corazon Of Mine

"The Best of Ill Nino" will not be issued in Europe.

ILL NINO recently signed a deal with Cement Shoes/Universal after parting ways with the Roadrunner label. Cement Shoes is the brainchild of Dan Catullo, who is the founder of Coming Home Sudios (GODSMACK, RUSH, MARILYN MANSON, MATCHBOX TWENTY, USHER, and others). The band is currently in Los Angeles, California recording a five-song EP containing two brand new ILL NINO songs and three cover songs "from bands that we respect and love," according to drummer Dave Chavarri.
