Illinois Fans Excited About MÖTLEY CRÜE's Return To Stage

Rockford, Illinois' Rockford Register Star has issued the following report:

It was her passion for MÖTLEY CRÜE that helped Candi Dixon find true love.

In 1987 Dixon turned 16, and her family and friends chipped in to get her the one birthday present she wanted: a ticket to see her favorite band at the Rosemont Horizon.

Dixon, a 33-year-old advertising sales rep, picks up the story from here.

"I was waiting for the concert to start, talking with a bunch of friends, when suddenly I spotted this cute guy," the Rockford resident said. "I did everything I could to get this guy's attention. After we finally made eye contact, he came over and asked me to sit with him for the rest of the show. Of course I said yes. Seventeen years and two children later, that cute guy (Lenny) is still my husband and best friend. If it wasn't for MÖTLEY CRÜE being my favorite band, the three most important things in my life — Lenny, Corey (15) and Peter (10) wouldn't have happened."

To diehard followers of the band, the last six years have felt more like 60. So now that the lewd, rude and tattooed rockers are back, fans are downright giddy. Take Justin Hare, who is, in fact, just a kid. The 16-year-old sophomore from Belvidere High School wasn't even born during the band's heyday, but thanks to his 29-year-old sister Jennifer, who's also a big fan, the younger Hare got hooked at an early age.

"Today's bands are so overproduced. It all sounds the same," said Hare, who will soak in his first MÖTLEY show from the 10th row Thursday night. "MÖTLEY CRÜE is from a time when it was cool to be a rock band. Their music is raw and energetic."
