IMPIOUS Working On 'Concept Album'
January 30, 2006Swedish death/thrashers IMPIOUS have posted the following message on their official web site:
"Here's an update for you all, just to let you know what's going on in the IMPIOUS camp at the moment. Basically it's all about writing new music right now. About four or five songs are done, or at least extremely close to done. Actually, most of the riffs and ideas for the new album are already there, just a lot of arranging left to do. But so far… it rips!!! And like always when it comes to IMPIOUS, most of the lyrics still need to be written. We're planning on recording the album in April/May, with an early September release through Metal Blade Records.
"Anyways, the new album will be something really special. We're gonna do a concept album. Well, that's nothing new you say? Think again! This thing we're gonna do has never been done before. It's not your ordinary concept album with a twist. It's so much bigger than that! It's a huge project and requires a lot of hard work, but it will be well worth it. Just wait and see. We're gonna keep it as a secret for now, since we don't want anyone stealing this brilliant and unique idea. I guess in March we'll let you know all the details, along with a working title and maybe even some pre-production samples.
"Since we're in writing mode right now, we've sadly had to turn down some gig offers. Nonetheless, we've decided to play the Lokomotiv Festival in our hometown Trollhättan, along with DISMEMBER, THE CHANGE, PETER PAN SPEEDROCK, and more. This will probably be our last gig before it's time to hit the road again in support for the new album."
IMPIOUS' fourth full-length album, "Hellucinate", was released in October 2004 through Metal Blade Records. The follow-up to 2002's "The Killer" was recorded at Studio Mega with producer Valle Adzic and was mixed by Chris Silver and Valle Adzic.
