IN FLAMES Bassist: New Album 'Is Almost Done'
November 14, 2007Bassist Peter Iwers of the Swedish metallers IN FLAMES has posted the following message on the band's web site:
"Hey there, sorry for not updating for a loooong time, have been kind of busy in the studio, making movies, and oh yeah recording bass. The [new IN FLAMES] album is almost done, everything's pretty much recorded except for some final details. We've had a blast doing this and it marks the first time since 'Reroute to Remain' [2002] that we're all recording under the same roof . This time at our very own studio, which is cool."
IN FLAMES recently inked a new deal with Nuclear Blast Records covering all territories outside North America. The group's new CD, which is currently being recorded at IF studios in Gothenburg, Sweden, is tentatively scheduled for release in April 2008.
Commented the band: "We are very happy that we have signed with Nuclear Blast again. They have been with us for a long time and helped us to get to where we are as a band right now. We have all the faith and belief in them to help us get even bigger as a band so we can continue to do this for years to come. We are really excited about our new album and can’t wait for it to be released so you, our fans, out there can enjoy it with us. See you in 2008."
A new IN FLAMES track, entitled "Abnegation", is featured on the "Viva La Bands, Vol. 2" album, which was released on September 4 via Ferret Music and Filthy Note Records. The CD features exclusive tracks, written and recorded for the CD/DVD combo from some of Bam's favorite acts like CLUTCH, CKY, CHILDREN OF BODOM, VIKING SKULL and VAINS OF JENNA. A U.S.-exclusive track from SHINY TOY GUNS and music from other faves like GWAR, THE SOUNDS, DIMMU BORGIR and KILL HANNAH also appears on the killer compilation.

IN FLAMES and CHILDREN OF BODOM are in talks to play next year's Gigantour in North America, the tour's organizer, Dave Mustaine of MEGADETH, revealed during an appearance on the "Talking Metal on Fuse" show on Fuse TV this past Friday (November 9). Another act that may be taking part in the trek is the Arizona-based extreme metal group JOB FOR A COWBOY.
