IN FLAMES Bassist 'Psyched' To Play With IRON MAIDEN Again

June 15, 2007

IN FLAMES bassist Peter Iwers has posted the following message on the band's web site:

"Today it is Friday and in Gothenburg it feels like we're on the Canaries or somewhere else where it's freaking warm. It's hot, and it´s been like this for a while now. Just spending the days with rehersals and then getting out in the sun is not a bad thing. Last weekend was the kick-off for this summer's festivals, starting with an opening slot for my favorite band IRON MAIDEN. We also got to hang with our friends in MASTODON again which is always a great thing. PAPA ROACH did a great job as always and it was a pleasure to meet them again. Tomorrow we have Nova Rock [in Austria] which should be fun, some great bands and I'm looking forward to some hang time again. On Sunday it is MAIDEN again so, of course, I'm psyched."

IN FLAMES recently uploaded a new photo gallery from their June 8, 2007 concert in Ludwigshafen, Germany where they opened for IRON MAIDEN. Check it out at this location.

Upcoming IN FLAMES shows:

June 16 - Burgenland, Austria @ Pannonia Fields II (Nova Rock)
June 17 - Duisberg, Germany @ MSV Stadium (w/ IRON MAIDEN)
July 07 - Turku, Finland @ Ruisrock
July 13 - Arvika, Sweden @ Arvika Festival
Aug. 04 - Wacken, Germany @ Wacken Open Air
Aug. 18 - Derbyshire, England @ Catton Hall - Bloodstock Festival

IN FLAMES was honored with the Swedish "Grammis" award in the "Best Hard Rock" category during a ceremony that was held on January 30 at Hovet in Stockholm. A total of five bands were nominated for their most recent releases, all of which came out during 2006. A video clip of IN FLAMES performing the song "Come Clarity" on the Swedish music awards show "Rockbjörnen" on January 11 in Stockholm, Sweden has been posted online at YouTube.com. The band's lineup for the performance included guitarists Björn Gelotte and Jesper Strömblad, who were both absent from the group's most recent U.S. tour.
