IN FLAMES: Exclusive Club Show In Gothenburg Announced

June 4, 2010

Swedish metallers IN FLAMES have posted the following message on their official web site:

"As Sweden's absolute biggest metal band, and one of the biggest bands in Sweden of all genres, IN FLAMES was the most requested band to play the Metaltown festival this year. As if that wasn't enough, we can today reveal that IN FLAMES will play a VERY exclusive club show at Sticky Fingers in Gothenburg on June 17th.

"The tickets are released on June 4th at 10 a.m..

"In December, 2009 IN FLAMES did their biggest Swedish headline dates in their career. Over 19,000 people saw the band over three shows in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö.

"These three shows looked like they could be the last for quite some time, but the band was overwhelmed by the response and decided to do a couple more this summer.

"So now, the day before Metaltown starts, IN FLAMES will play the small club Sticky Fingers in Gothenburg. This is a VERY exclusive and intimate show so if you want a chance to see this be quick as the tickets will no doubt disappear fast.

"Tickets are released today, Friday, June 4th, at 10 AM (CET) and are sold via Eventim.se and Eventim's call centre 0046 (0)771-651 000."

Guitarist Jesper Strömblad recently quit IN FLAMES in order to continue receiving treatment for his alcohol addiction.

The band spent the last few months touring the world with Strömblad's temporary replacement, Niclas Engelin from the Swedish band ENGEL.

Engelin had helped IN FLAMES on a couple of occasions in the past and is no stranger to the band's songs or the touring life.

IN FLAMES's latest album, "A Sense of Purpose" (2008),shifted 20,000 copies in the United States during its first week of release. This is slightly less than the opening tally of "Come Clarity" (Ferret),which sold just under 24,000 copies in February 2006 to debut at position No. 58.
