3 INCHES OF BLOOD: 'Fire Up The Blades' Artwork Revealed

February 11, 2007

The cover artwork for 3 INCHES OF BLOOD's upcoming album, "Fire up the Blades", has been posted online at this location. Due this spring via Roadrunner Records, the follow-up to "Advance and Vanquish" was produced by SLIPKNOT drummer Joey Jordison. "Working with Joey has been awesome," singer/screamer Jamie Hopper previously said. "He's made a seamless transition onto the 3 INCHES OF BLOOD drinking team and is pushing us harder than ever before. We're coming up with some killer stuff, which we can't wait for everyone to hear." Jordison added, "I've been into 3IOB since 'Battle Cry Under a Winter's Sun'. I've wanted to work with them since. Unfortunately, timing didn't work out, but in the spring of 2006, timing was right. The new lineup is lethal, stellar musicians. We honed in on every beat riff and vocal to make this a legendary recording. The musical equivalent to a beheading."

Darker, tighter and more dangerous than their debut, the new album features songs such as "Night Marauders", "Goatrider’s Horde", "Assassins of the Light" and "Black Spire". With those songtitles, the album is sure to be full of vivid imagery, masterful guitar acrobatics and the soaring vocals of Cam Pipes and Jamie Hooper that 3 INCHES OF BLOOD is known for.

Since the release of "Advance & Vanquish", 3 INCHES OF BLOOD have been plundering cities all around the world on tours with AVENGED SEVENFOLD, TRIVIUM, CHIMAIRA, EXODUS and others. The the Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada-based metal sextet most recently headlined a North American tour with EARLY MAN and BAD WIZARD in support. On October 21, 2006, the members of 3 INCHES OF BLOOD lived out their dreams by opening up for legendary metal band IRON MAIDEN at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Los Angeles, CA. 3 INCHES OF BLOOD is currently opening for CRADLE OF FILTH on their North American tour, also featuring Finland's THE 69 EYES in the middle slot.

On "Advance and Vanquish", 3 INCHES OF BLOOD brought back the sound of twin lead guitars, thundering bass and vocals that can break glass. Songs like "Destroy the Orcs" and "Axes of Evil", touched on such contemporary subjects as pirates, battlefields and dragons. The upcoming CD will be full of similar tales, but with two new members — drummer Alexie Rodriquez and bassist Nick Cates — fans and critics should prepare for some serious musicianship that will take the band to the next level.

3 INCHES OF BLOOD is Cam Pipes (vocals),Jamie Hooper (vocals),Justin Hagberg (guitar),Shane Clark (guitar),Nick Cates (bass) and Alexei Rodriquez (drums).
