3 INCHES OF BLOOD recruited drummer Ash Pearson (SOUND OF THE SWARM, JUST CAUSE) for the band's recent tour with THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, HATE ETERNAL and DECREPIT BIRTH. Pearson joined the group as the replacement for Alexei Rodriguez, who was unceremoniously dismissed from the band after he landed in a physical confrontation with SAXON drummer Nigel Glockler at the Hard Rock Hell festival in England this past November.
On October 9, 2007, 3 INCHES OF BLOOD released an exclusive digital-only three-song EP, "Trial of Champions". The EP features the title track, B-side "Key to Oblivion" and "In the Time of Job When Mannon Was a Yippie", a unique interpretation of the song originally performed by LUCIFER'S FRIEND. "Key to Oblivion" is a B-side track from the recording sessions for their recent Roadrunner Records full-length release, "Fire Up the Blades", produced by Joey Jordison (SLIPKNOT). The digital-only EP can be found via iTunes and other online outlets.
