INFECTIOUS GROOVES To 'Do Some Recording' For BBC In London

April 7, 2008

INFECTIOUS GROOVES, the funkadelic side project of SUICIDAL TENDENCIES frontman Mike Muir, will "do some recording for a BBC show" the morning of the band's April 10, 2008 headlining concert at London's Mean Fiddler, according to a posting on the SUICIDAL TENDENCIES web site. No further details are currently available.

INFECTIOUS GROOVES recently made an e-card available for its forthcoming European tour. Check it out at this location.

Fan-filmed video footage of INFECTIOUS GROOVES performing the song "Good Times Are Out to Get You" from the album "Mas Borracho" in February at the Soundwave festival in Brisbane, Australia can be viewed below (courtesy of "mynxxie").

INFECTIOUS GROOVES recently announced the addition of guitarist Tim Stewart and drummer Eric Moore to the group's ranks. The band's current lineup is as follows:

Mike Muir - Vocals
Dean Pleasants - Guitar
Tim Stewart - Guitar
Steve Brunner - Bass
Eric Moore - Drums

INFECTIOUS GROOVES was formed soon after Robert Trujillo joined SUICIDAL TENDENCIES in 1989. Mike Muir and Trujillo got together with a few friends and started writing songs centered more around the bass, but with the intent of giving everyone else a whole lot of freedom.

"SEX PISTOLS and PARLIAMENT were my two favorite bands when I was young," says Muir. "People think they are completely different but I saw a lot of similarities, even if musically they were categorized as completely different styles. There's something beautiful about breaking rules that never should have been made."

INFECTIOUS GROOVES' most recent album, "Mas Borracho", came out in 2000.
