'Infernal Gathering' Compilation Due In June

June 1, 2004

Candlelight Records has set a June 29 U.S. release date for "Infernal Gathering, The Second Chapter", a collection of headline artists that performed at the 4th annual Inferno Festival this past April.

Norway's Inferno Festival has, in its short time, established itself as one of the most important extreme metal festivals in the world. With an audience that finds attendees from Mexico, USA, Japan, India, Australia, Europe and others, the Oslo-based 3-day event takes over two of the city's most cherished venues.

"With a capacity of 1500 a day, Inferno is a very intimate festival, where the audience mingles, drinks and talks with the bands," festival organizers said in a press release. "That's one of Inferno's strongest points." This year's event, covered by most major metal publications around the world, organizers confirm as their strongest and most successful with high profile performers including England's MY DYING BRIDE (Peaceville),Norway notables KHOLD (Candlelight),MAYHEM (Season of Mist),ZYKLON (Candlelight),Poland's DECAPITATED (Earache),and many more.

Candlelight plans to release a DVD version of this year's fest as well make available "The First Chapter" of this growing musical legacy, featuring DIMMU BORGIR, SOILWORK, IMMORTAL and others, later in the year. Details to follow.

Set to be released as a mid-line priced CD, "Infernal Gathering, The Second Gathering" will feature the following track listing:
