INFERNAL MAJESTY: Former Singer's Claims Are 'Publicity Stunt'

April 15, 2006

Canadian metallers INFERNAL MAJESTY have commented on ex-singer Chris Bailey's recent interview in which he accused his former bandmates of withholding royalties that were rightfully his and lanching a smear campaign against him after he had made a decision to leave the group.

In an interview with Metal-Rules.com, Bailey had the following to say about the circumstances that led to his depature from the band: "I would assume what Ken [guitarist Kenny Hallman] was referring to in the previous interview with [Metal-Rules.com] when he stated that he was questioning the future of Chris Bailey and INFERNAL MAJESTY as if it were his decision, and that I had missed some big show where a friend of the band had to stand in for me, is misinformation. This was the best he could come up with to try and add some sort of fact to his fiction when the fact of the matter is the show in question I think he's refering to was us filling in for a local band that cancelled last minute and I was unable to do it because I had picked up the flu."

Responding to Bailey's remarks, INFERNAL MAJESTY's current singer, Brian Langley, sent the following statement to BLABBERMOUTH.NET:

"INFERNAL MAJESTY has pictures [photo#1, photo#2, photo#3] posted at their MySpace website of friend of the band, Greg Cavanagh, filling in for for ex-INFERNAL MAJESTY vocalist Chris Bailey. It is common knowledge to all INFERNAL MAJESTY fans in Vancouver that Greg filled in for Bailey on five or six occasions, which spanned close to a year. Which leaves the question: What was Bailey telling the truth about in his interview?

"INFERNAL MAJESTY dismisses the whole interview as a publicity stunt."

INFERNAL MAJESTY are currenty recording the follow-up to 2004's "One Who Points To Death", entitled "Systematical Extermination", for release later in the year via Greece's Black Lotus Records.
