INTRONAUT Parts Ways With Guitarist, Announces Replacement

August 28, 2007

California-based progressive/extreme music outfit INTRONAUT has announced the departure of guitarist/vocalist Leon del Muerte. Leon reportedly left the group to focus on his MURDER CONSTRUCT project and his stint as the bass player in PHOBIA. Taking his spot in INTRONAUT is Dave Timnick.

Commented the band: "Dave is a very talented and proficient musician; we're stoked. In addition to being a great guitar player, he is also a skilled percussionist and has studied tabla with Aloke Dutta. We can't wait to get things going with this revamped lineup!"

Leon del Muerte had the following to say regarding his decision to leave the group: "I had a lot of fun playing and learning new things with INTRONAUT and got to tour with some great bands and made a lot of new friends. Ultimately, I feel I've just strayed too far from my roots and could not hold back the other members of the band with my single-minded desire to grind."

Translation Loss recently announced the release of INTRONAUT's new CD, "The Challenger". Due before the end of the year, the album will consist of three new tracks, a handful of live tracks and a remix, with a running time of over 40 minutes.
