ION VEIN Rejoined By Original Bassist

September 2, 2004

Chicago prog/power metallers ION VEIN have announced the return of the group's original bassist, Brian Gordon, to the fold after a four-year hiatus. "Brian left in 2000 to pursue other musical interests and although he was no longer a member of the band, we have remained good friends and he was always considered an extended member of the ION VEIN family," the band write in a statement. "In fact, Brian ended up laying the bass tracks down for the last album, 'Reigning Memories', and periodically filled in for gigs this past year."

Commented Gordon: "I am extremely pleased to be jamming with my friends in ION VEIN again. It feels like coming home after being away awhile! I'm glad to see that the energy and passion behind ION VEIN's vision has not faded, even after dealing with line-up changes. The new material we're working on kicks ass! Playing with Chuck on drums is great and Chris and Russ are reaching further and digging deeper for fresh sounds and it's great to be a part of it. I'm very excited about the new music this band is creating, I'll see you at the shows!"

England's Now and Then Records will be releasing "Reigning Memories" throughout Europe and Asia in September while writing for the follow-up continues. Catch ION VEIN with TWELFTH GATE and RIVAL at Penny Road Pub in South Barrington, IL on September 25.
