IRON FIRE Frontman Explains Delay Between Albums
March 11, 2006Vocalist Martin Steene of the Danish power metallers IRON FIRE (also in FORCE OF EVIL) has issued a statement regarding the lengthy period between the release of the band's last album, 2001's "On the Edge", and their brand-new CD, "Revenge", due on March 24 via Napalm Records.
Commented Steene: "The time has come for a new metal crusade, a new album a new web site and a stronger IRON FIRE then ever.
"It's been one hell of a struggle to get IRON FIRE back in the ring and I am really proud of having this new album out and have beaten all odds. One thing is for sure five years between albums is not our style and that will never happen again, but hopefully it's been worth the wait.
"The last five years have been a rollecoster ride of emotions to the point of insanity, and yes, there have been times where I all most barred my dream in frustration and despair. But lucky for me and for those who like IRON FIRE metal I never did and for that I can only thank our fans and my band brothers.
"As you can see there a no original members left in the line up today except for me, and the reason for that will only be a guess, times change and ambition and talent draws in different durations but no matter what this album is also a victory for those old members and school friends I started this band with long ago, and I only wish them the best of luck with there new bands and for the future.
"Enough said, now its time to put the past behind and for a new battle and I hope all you brothers and sisters of true metal will fight by our side once again."
The band's third album, "Revenge", was produced by Tommy Hansen (HELLOWEEN, TNT, HATESPHERE) and features cover art by Eric Philippe (RHAPSODY, LUCA TURILLI). An audio sample of the track "Wings of Rage" can be downloaded at this location.
IRON FIRE issued two full-length albums through the Sanctuary/Noise label: 2000's "Thunderstorm" and 2001's "On the Edge".
