IRON MAIDEN Drummer Performs With 'Flashback' In Florida; Video, Photos Available

September 5, 2008

IRON MAIDEN drummer Nicko McBrain made a surprise appearance last Sunday night (August 31) with the "Flashback – the Classic Rock Experience", a national arena tour which "delivers anew the hit music of the all-time greatest artists — JANIS JOPLIN, JIMI HENDRIX, THE DOORS, LED ZEPPELIN, PINK FLOYD and more — presented in a mind-boggling multi-media spectacle one must see to believe," according to a press release. McBrain joined the "Flashback" musicians for a performance of the DEEP PURPLE classic "Smoke on the Water" at the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, Florida.

Photos and video footage of McBrain's appearance can be viewed below.

According to BLABBERMOUTH.NET reader John Paul Gouleven, "The show was filled with surprises including an ultra crisp 225,000 watt surround sound system, pyros, trippy lasers, and really groovy slideshows [Note: The artwork in the slideshow created by Ed Unitsky]. The show's concept is to provide the technology of a stage show today to some of rock 'n' roll's most infamous hits, with an orchestra, multiple performers, and multiple guitars, and precussion... It worked perfectly!!! It was like going to the ultimate reunion tour of all time; JANIS JOPLIN (Katrina Chester was awesome... what a set of lungs!!!),THE DOORS, JIMI HENDRIX, PINK FLOYD, LED ZEPPELIN, just to name a few. I encourage any rock fan to definitetly check this tour out. Floor seats were cheap too!!!"
