IRON MAIDEN Guitarist To Guest On MTV2's 'Headbangers Ball'

The Monday night, August 23 (technically early Tuesday morning, August 24) edition of MTV2's "Headbangers Ball" will feature IRON MAIDEN music videos. The show, which airs at 3:00 a.m., will also include exclusive interview clips with Janick Gers, Mike Portnoy (DREAM THEATER) and "Talking Metal"'s John Ostronomy. Janick shares some great memories of filming such videos as "The Wicker Man" and discusses the new IRON MAIDEN album, "The Final Frontier".

According to Music Week, IRON MAIDEN is on track to have a No. 1 album in the U.K. this Sunday, with the band's latest effort, "The Final Frontier" (EMI),selling more than three times as many as its nearest competitor, EMINEM's "Recovery" (Interscope),so far this week.

"The Final Frontier", the band's 15th studio album, has sold more than 22,000 copies, while "Recovery" has sold around 7,000 this week in the U.K., according to Official Charts Company midweek figures.

"The Final Frontier" was released in North America on August 17 via Universal Music Enterprises (UMe). The effort was made available in a unique limited-edition collectors' "Mission Edition" CD case and features access to extra bonus content, including the director's cut of a video for the edited version of the opening song on the album, entitled "Satellite 15... The Final Frontier"; band "Mission Debrief" interview footage; wallpapers; photos; and the exclusive game "Mission II : Rescue & Revenge". MAIDEN is also for the first time making the album available as an iTunes LP with bonus content as well as the traditional digital format. There is also a limited-edition double picture disc.
