IRON MAIDEN Win Finnish Award For 'Best International Act'
February 28, 2005According to a posting on the IRON MAIDEN fan site MaidenFans.com, MAIDEN won the equivalent of a Grammy in Finland, an Emma, during a ceremony held Saturday (Feb. 26) at Kulttuuritalolla in Helsinki. They won for Best International Act, a category voted on by music consumers and not a specialized jury.
During his acceptance speech via video conference from a recording studio, IRON MAIDEN singer Bruce Dickinson said that he couldn't reveal what he was doing there, for it was "a secret."
As previously reported, Dickinson is currently putting the finshing touches on a new solo album, tentatively due this spring. A solo "greatest hits" DVD is also said to be in the works.
