Is It Really SLIPKNOT Behind The Masks?

July 22, 2004

When you're watching a SLIPKNOT show, you can be reasonably sure that the guys onstage in the costumes are actually the members of the Iowa-based band. But if you ran into someone on the street who said he was a member of SLIPKNOT, could you be certain he was telling the truth? Apparently some people are trying to pass themselves off as the men behind the masks, as bassist Paul Gray recently told Launch Radio Networks. "Somebody was going around saying he was Joey (Jordison, drummer),and he's actually in Iowa, and it's really weird. And the police are actually involved in that one, 'cause he's going really, like, past the line, not just going into the bar and getting a free drink, saying he's Joey. He's, like, trying to use credit cards and stuff, I think, I don't know. There's so many weird people that try to get away with that, but it's totally cool, you know."

SLIPKNOT are co-headlining the second stage of Ozzfest with HATEBREED. The next single from the group's new album, "Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)", will be "Vermilion". The track is also featured on the soundtrack to the upcoming film, "Resident Evil: Apocalypse". The album arrives in stores on August 31.
