It's Official: MÖTLEY CRÜE's 'Red, White & Crüe' To Debut At No. 6 On BILLBOARD Chart

February 9, 2005

MÖTLEY CRÜE's two-CD "greatest hits" collection, "Red, White & Crüe", has sold 90,305 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 6 on The Billboard 200 chart.

"Red, White & Crüe" contains the original CRÜE's first studio recordings since 1998's "Greatest Hits". The group's last full-length collection of new material, "Generation Swine", was released in 1997 and has sold 300,892 copies to date, according to Nielsen SoundScan. A full-length studio album, "New Tattoo", was issued in 2000 without the contributions of drummer Tommy Lee, who had left the group to launch a solo career. That set, which featured the talents of former OZZY OSBOURNE drummer Randy Castillo, has shifted 184,931 units, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

In other SoundScan news, HIGH ON FIRE's "Blessed Black Wings" registered a first-weeks sales tally of 2,760 while Finnish goth metallers H.I.M. continue to pave the way for the worldwide simultaneous release of their next studio effort by moving 10,021 copies of their latest CD, "Love Metal" (released in other parts of the world back in April 2003).
