It's Official: SHADOWS FALL To Release New Album Through Band's Newly Formed Label
March 17, 2009As BLABBERMOUTH.NETfirst reported on February 13, 2009, Massachusetts metallers SHADOWS FALL have now confirmed the formation of their own label in conjunction with Warner Music Group's Independent Label Group and Ferret Music. The band will release its sixth studio album this fall.
Commented lead singer Brian Fair: "All of us in SHADOWS FALL could not be more excited about our new working relationship with ILG and Ferret Records. We have always been a band that tried to maintain as much control over our career as possible and this new deal gives us just that. The music industry is changing drastically and to stay one step ahead we knew we needed a new business model and perspective. By combining the forces of ILG, Ferret Music and Channel Zero, we have created a 'Justice League Of Metal!!'"
SHADOWS FALL's latest effort, "Threads of Life", was made available through Atlantic Records in the U.S. and Roadrunner Records in Europe. The CD shifted around 100,000 copies in the United States since its April 2007 release — a fraction of the 300,000-plus sales total achieved by its predecessor, 2004's "The War Within", which was issued by Century Media.
SHADOWS FALL drummer Jason Bittner recently stated about the band's new material, "The songs are a little more on the darker, angry side... lots of heaviness, lots of crazy guitar, and LOTS of room for me to have some fun. There is no doubt in my mind that this will be the best performance of my career, so far, and I owe that to my guys for bringing me incredible riffs to write killer drum parts to."
