JASON NEWSTED Joins SEPULTURA On Second Guitar!

May 8, 2003

Former METALLICA and current VOIVOD bassist Jason Newsted joined SEPULTURA onstage on second guitar during the latter band's headlining gig at the Quest Club in Minneapolis, Minnesota last night (May 7) for renditions of "Refuse/Resist" and "Territory". SEPULTURA are in the middle of a North American tour with VOIVOD and are scheduled to appear at Harpo's in Detroit, Michigan Friday night (May 9).

In other news, it now appears that SEPULTURA's much-rumored U.S. deal with No Name/Elektra Records has fallen through after the two parties failed to come to an agreement with respect to the terms of the band's North American record contract. It is not presently clear if SEPULTURA are close to inking a deal with another label for the American release of the band's upcoming "Roorback" CD, which is set to surface in Europe through SPV/Steamhammer Records on May 26.
