April 5, 2008

Legendary hard rock singer Jeff Scott Soto (TALISMAN, JOURNEY, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN) has released the following update via his official newsletter:

"Just wrapping up a successful European tour sponsoring and presenting Brazilian newbies TEMPESTT, Jeff is now headed back to Florida to continue work with on the upcoming TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA album, 'Night Castle'.

"Last weekend of April, Jeff will head up to the Tri-State area for a few shows with the great SCRAP METAL project which includes the Nelsons and Mark Slaughter with Simon Kirke of BAD CO. and Jimi Jamison of SURVIVOR pencilled to be included.

"From there, Jeff will head back to the UK to prepare for a few corporate shows in Seattle, WA with the WHITE SOX band, a band featuring Spike Edney and Jamie Moses of QUEEN, and Alan White of YES.

"Immediately from Seattle, Jeff heads back down to Brazil for two weeks of dates, reuniting with TEMPESTT as his backing band, revisiting the QUEEN tribute show. There has been a demand for this worldwide since Jeff released the 2003 Queen Convention DVD, but other interests have taken precedence until now which will meet the request for the all-QUEEN set. The second half of the dates will be joined by Jimi Jamison of SURVIVOR doing all his best known hits.

"Directly from Brazil, Jeff heads back to Sweden for a two-song appearance with guitar former SCORPIONS guitar legend Uli Jon Roth at the Sweden Rock Festival the first weekend of June. Jeff has appeared with Uli and his masterclass showcase Sky Academy for the past two years in Los Angeles and will again join Uli and his band onstage again.

"In the meantime, an update on the yet-to-be-titled new JSS release. The album is being mastered and a major marketing campaign has been constructed for its launch. The working release month is mid-September, just before Jeff and band are to appear at the UK's premier melodic rock festival, Firefest along with FIREHOUSE, TYKETTO and the return of other former JOURNEY singer Steve Augeri reuniting with TALL STORIES. The Firefest performance will include an extensive selection of new and past JSS-oriented material as well is planned to be filmed for a DVD release early 2009. The DVD is set to include an amazing assortment of bonuses like the new album, videos and other promotional materials for the upcoming CD that will be specially priced as a media package loaded with goodies."
