JOB FOR A COWBOY Drummer To Perform With CROWN THE LOST In Pittsburgh

Rhythm guitarist David E. Gehlke of the Pittsburgh-based melodic thrash metal band CROWN THE LOST has issued the following update:

"We are pleased to announce that former CROWN THE LOST/current JOB FOR A COWBOY drummer Jon 'The Charn' Rice will be handling drum duties for our July 12 show at The Smiling Moose in Pittsburgh, PA. Jon, who is currently on a European festival run with JFAC, has gratiously accepted to fill in for us during this time of need, and for that, we will reward him with a case of beer and full access to my ever-unmanageable CD collection.

"With that in mind, be sure to come out to the aforementioned show. We will be busting out some older tunes from the first album and Jon will be tackling some jams from [the forthcoming CROWN THE LOST album] 'Blind Faith Loyalty', so it should be a rocking time all around."

CROWN THE LOST has posted two new songs — "Defame the Hypocrites" and "Blind Faith Loyalty" — on its MySpace page. Both cuts come off "Blind Faith Loyalty", which is due later this summer. The follow-up to 2006's critically acclaimed "Reverence Dies Within" "expands upon CROWN THE LOST's intricate and memorable blend of progressively tinged thrash and melodic metal, this time with a greater emphasis on vocal dynamics and instrumental breaks," according to a press release.
