JOE SATRIANI Announces New Bassist, Prepares To Hit The Road

February 4, 2006

Guitar legend Joe Satriani has posted the following message on his official web site:

"I'm happy to announce that bassist Dave LaRue (DIXIE DREGS, STEVE MORSE BAND, JOHN PETRUCCI, VINNIE MOORE and PLANET X) will be joining us on our upcoming 'Super Colossal Tour'. Dave is a monster player and I look forward to his sound and fury! After walking the boards with him during our last G3 tour of Japan, all of us, including Matt, thought Dave would be a fantastic addition to the band. Matt has decided to devote his life to beat poetry and further study at the Lum Lum sanctuary... really.

"The U.S. tour, starting April 1st with our old friend ERIC JOHNSON opening, is coming together courtesy of Wayne Forte at Entourage Talent, look for dates on this site soon. We will start putting together a show around the beginning of March. Suggestions for the set list are always welcome, but we will be leaning towards quite a bit of new material from 'Super Colossal' as well.

"Before the tour kicks off you can find me at the Gibson Amphitheater in L.A. on February 7th attending and playing at the Les Paul 90th Birthday Party... Oddly enough, Matt will be playing bass for me that night! And, at the Henry Fonda Theater in L.A. on February 24, jamming with the band PARTICLE for a few songs.

"Jon will shoot some rehearsal footage for the site so you can see what we're planning on bringing to the stage. After the N. American shows we are hoping to bring the tour to Europe and later in the year to Mexico, S. America and Down Under."
