JOE SATRIANI: UK Tour Dates Announced

Joe Satriani, of rock music's most renowned electric guitarists, will undertake a nine-date UK tour starting Monday, May 12, 2008 at Birmingham Symphony Hall. Paul Gilbert will be special guest on all of Satriani's UK concerts except for Nottingham Royal Centre on Wednesday, May 21.

Joe Satriani has been a worldwide guitar hero since his 1986 breakthrough album, "Surfing with the Alien". Over 10 million albums and CDs later, in addition to 13 Grammy nominations (including this year for his latest studio release "Super Colossal"),Joe continues to push the envelope of modern rock guitar playing. Satriani is currently ranked as the seventh best electric guitar player in the world.

After releasing several critically acclaimed albums over 10 years, in 1996, Satriani and guitarist Steve Vai embarked on the G3 guitar showcase tour, which became an annual event. By 2000, Satriani released the electronic album "Engines of Creation" which earned him a Grammy nomination. Satriani went on to release his most recent live album "Satriani Live!". A new studio album is expected to be released in 2008 to coincide with the UK tour.
