JOHAN LINDSTRAND To Rejoin THE CROWN For Finland's TUSKA METAL Festival
June 6, 2002THE CROWN will be utilizing the services of original singer Johan Lindstrand during the group's appearance at Finland's Tuska Metal festival on July 13th, according to a message posted on the event's official web site.
Lindstrand will be filling the slot left vacant by ex-AT THE GATES frontman Tomas Lindberg, who parted ways with the group earlier this week under very acrimonious circumstances.
Johan had originally quit the group in March 2001 due to his strong distaste for the touring lifestyle and was eventually replaced by Lindberg, who sang on the band's most recent CD, Crowned In Terror.
THE CROWN's last show with Lindberg took place last Friday, May 31st, at The Shrine in Stockholm, where the group shared the stage with THE HAUNTED and NECROPHOBIC.
UPDATE: According to a message posted at THE CROWN's official web site late today, Johan's decision to help out his former bandmates by appearing with the group at Tuska "does not mean that he's back in the band—this is more of an old friend helping out thing."
