JON OLIVA'S PAIN To Perform At Memorial Show For Late Producer/Engineer
September 14, 2007JON OLIVA'S PAIN, the band led by SAVATAGE mastermind Jon Oliva, will perform at a memorial show for producer, engineer and close friend Greg "Super G" Marchak, who passed away unexpectedly on September 6 after suffering an aneurysm. The concert will take place on Monday, October 1 at Club 1509/Skye in Ybor City/Tampa, Florida and will include additional appearances by WALK THE CHALK, GUNBURNER, and THE REGULARS.
JON OLIVA'S PAIN is scheduled to enter Audio Lab Studios in Tampa, Florida later this month to begin recording its third album for a tentative February 28, 2008 release via Germany's AFM Records. The group will embark on a select-city North American run in early 2008 with an eye towards a full tour in the fall.
JON OLIVA'S PAIN's last CD, "Maniacal Renderings", entered the German national chart at position No. 86 upon its release in September 2006. The follow-up to 2004's "'Tage Mahal" was recorded at Audio Lab Studios in Tampa, Florida and is described in a press release as "a more progressive, complex and dramatic edge without sacrificing any of the songwriting quality that fans have come to expect during Oliva's 25-year career."
