JOSH HOMME Plans More QUEENS Touring, Next 'Desert Sessions'

Launch Radio Networks reports: QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE frontman Josh Homme told Billboard.com yesterday (Tuesday, November 8) that the band may not be done touring in support of its "Lullabies To Paralyze" album after its current trek with NINE INCH NAILS ends. Homme said, "Our single, 'Burn the Witch', just came out, so I'm sure QUEENS will do some more stuff. We haven't really done our own headlining tour."

Homme also plans to record a new "Desert Sessions" album sometime between now and February, in which he collaborates with many different artists on a series of recorded jams and spontaneous songwriting sessions. Homme told Launch that assembling the musicians for each new project is always a challenge. "It's a bit like coyotes in the desert," he said. "They sort of circle around a little and then keep coming in tighter, until you've sort of corralled everyone. And so you just sort of discuss with people and, knock on wood, you know, no one's said no yet. You know, you try to pick times of the year that make sense too, and things like that."

The "Desert Sessions" 9 & 10 came out in October of 2003 and featured members of A PERFECT CIRCLE, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, WEEN and others.

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE's current tour with NINE INCH NAILS concludes on November 20 in San Diego, California.

In between arena shows with NINE INCH NAILS, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE has been playing its own surprise gigs in offbeat venues. The next one happens tonight (Wednesday, November 9) at Newbury Comics in Boston.

A live QUEENS CD/DVD called "Over the Years and Through the Woods" comes out on November 22.
