JOURNEY's Collaboration With RASCAL FLATTS Up For Two CMT Awards
May 6, 2013Legendary American rockers JOURNEY have been nominated for two CMT awards. The band is up for the "CMT Performance Of The Year" honor, along with RASCAL FLATTS, for "Don't Stop Believin'", from "CMT Crossroads: Journey And Rascal Flatts", as well as "CMT Collaborative Video Of The Year', also with RASCAL FLATTS, for "Changed", from the same program.
The awards will be handed out on Wednesday, June 5.
JOURNEY and RASCAL FLATTS first teamed up to close the 2012 CMT Music Awards with a version of JOURNEY's "Don't Stop Believin'". They also took part in a "CMT Crossroads" in New Orleans this year on Super Bowl weekend.
"CMT Crossroads" pairs country music stars with popular artists from other genres — pop, rock, R&B — to play together, swap stories, and share their common love of music.
"Our respect for them as musicians deepened through the television shows we did together," RASCAL FLATTS singer Gary LeVox said.
Added JOURNEY guitarist Neal Schon: "Our most recent performances with RASCAL FLATTS were awesome. They're great guys and great musicians."
