JUCIFER To Be Featured In 'The Executioniz Comes Tomorrow' Film

July 14, 2009

Pre-production has officially started on the feature film "The Executioniz Comes Tomorrow: Jucifer live at Call the Office". The project is a collaborative effort between Handshake Inc. and nomadic sludge-pop-metal gods JUCIFER, and will be shot primarily on July 27 at the legendary Canadian bar/live music institution Call the Office, located in London, Ontario.

Written by David Hall ("Axis of Eden the Feature Film", "Disgorge, Mexico", "Maryland Deathfest: The Movie"),the film is about a troubled and neurotic filmmaker who's been commissioned to produce a live JUCIFER concert film, and the story follows the misadventures and ultimate demise of this director as he desperately tries to get his movie made. "It's a fictional film about a real concert," explained Hall from his London studio, "and the movie will feature the real concert, but it will be edited together with this really dark, desperate and hilarious story. Sort of like if Charlie Kaufman wrote a subplot for 'Stop Making Sense', by THE TALKING HEADS." Hall will also be directing the film, and Dave Cardoso, the other half of Handshake Inc., is onboard as DOP.

Currently on its "L'autrichienne 2009 North America" tour, JUCIFER will make a stop in London, Ontario on July 27 to play one of its only southwestern Ontario gigs. "I can't remember the last time, if ever, JUCIFER played London," said Hall of the opportunity to film JUCIFER in his hometown, "but it's something way too cool to pass up. We've been fans for a long time, and Dave and I met JUCIFER when they played with TODAY IS THE DAY in Wilmington, North Carolina, in November of 2008, and they're just the nicest people and I've wanted to work with them ever since."

Handshake Inc. is currently in post-production for the feature films "Disgorge, Mexico" (based on the album of the same name by Relapse Records' FUCK THE FACTS) and "Maryland Deathfest: The Movie", and is completing work on the music video "Prelude to the Oracle", off SIGH's forthcoming release "Scenes from Hell".

"L'autrichienne", a 21-song concept album based on the life of Mary Antoinette, is JUCIFER's third full-length for Relapse Records.
