JUDAS PRIEST Continue To Deny Reunion Rumors, Former Drummer In 'Rape' Probe

January 26, 2003

Despite JUDAS PRIEST drummer Scott Travis' statement to the contrary, JUDAS PRIEST Management Co-Ordinator Jayne Andrews has once again dismissed as "incorrect" the rumors of a possible reunion with former singer Rob Halford.

In her latest posting to the official JUDAS PRIEST "Noticeboard", dated Sunday, Jan. 26, Andrews writes, "There are yet again stories circulating regarding a 'quote' that was made [by JUDAS PRIEST drummer Scott Travis] - to put the record straight - this is totally incorrect - Ripper Owens is JUDAS PRIEST's vocalist and we are not planning any Summer shows with Rob Halford - in other words nothing has changed!!! As I have said a million times unless you hear it from us as an OFFICIAL announcement DON'T BELIEVE IT!!!!"

In related news, weekly U.K. tabloid News Of The World ran the following item in their latest print edition (published on Sunday, Jan. 26):

"Flamboyant 54-year-old rock star [and former JUDAS PRIEST drummer] Dave Holland has been arrested over claims that he carried out a sex attack on a wheelchair-bound 17-year-old teenager who is understood to have the mental age of around 8 or 9. He's been released on bail pending further enquiries."

With regards to the News Of The World report, Andrews stated that "we don't know anything about this - Dave has not been in JUDAS PRIEST for over 13 years and we do not have any contact with him. Hopefully for Dave, it will all work out okay and will have been a misunderstanding."
