JUDAS PRIEST Frontman Hits Cover Circuit

JUDAS PRIEST frontman Tim "Ripper" Owens has been passing time recently by making several live appearances with an Ohio-based cover band THE SICKNESS, whose lineup includes two of Owens' former bandmates, bassist Dennis Hayes (formerly of Tim's pre-PRIEST band WINTERS BANE) and drummer Tim Semelsberger (from an early Ripper-fronted cover band, U.S. METAL).

THE SICKNESS, a self-dubbed "raging extreme-rock tribute" band, performed their first show with Owens on Friday, October 4 at Bulldog's, Akron, Ohio and ran through a set list that included tracks by such acts as DISTURBED ("Stupify", "Prayer", "Down With The Sickness"),GODSMACK ("Awake", "Voodoo", "I Stand Alone", "Greed"),LINKIN PARK ("In The End", "One Step Closer"),LIMP BIZKIT ("Break Stuff", Hot Dog"),CREED ("Bullets", "What If"),PAPA ROACH ("Last Resort"),and DROWNING POOL ("Bodies").

Ripper, who is sharing lead vocal duties in the group with regular THE SICKNESS frontman Tim Zuver, will be continuing to perform with the band "for as long as he can stand it," according to a posting by THE SICKNESS on their official web site.
