JUDAS PRIEST Frontman Performs 'Devil's Child' With JIM BREUER: Video Available
December 13, 2006A video clip of JUDAS PRIEST frontman Rob Halford and "heavy-metal comedian" Jim Breuer dueting on PRIEST's "Devil's Child" live on the "Breuer Unleashed" show on Sirius Satellite Radio in New York City last week has been posted online at YouTube.com. The last time Halford apparently sang this song was 13 years ago with FIGHT; the track hasn't been performed by the Rob-fronted version of JUDAS PRIEST in 23 years.
In related news, Breuer will star as Heavy Metal Man at "Comedy Steel". "Comedy Steel", presented by Lazy Eyes Productions and hosted by radio personality DJ Eddie Trunk, will kick off at the Nokia Theater in New York's Times Square on Saturday, January 13, 2007. Breuer will be joined by some of America's funniest, including Jim Florentine and Don Jamieson, as well as surprise special guests from rock 'n' roll royalty. Proceeds from the event will benefit Cure Autism Now, an organization of parents, clinicians and leading scientists committed to accelerating the pace of biomedical research in autism through raising money for research projects, education and outreach.
As pioneer of the "heavy-metal comedy" revolution, Jim Breuer combines his love of rock 'n' roll with comedy. Backed by a four-piece heavy metal band, dubbed THE BREU CRUE, Jim adds dimension to his comedic performance, as he unleashes a witty combination of rock and comedic assault for heavy metal fans.
Tickets for "Comedy Steel" are available now via Ticketmaster. Fans that purchase VIP tickets will have the chance to "hang" backstage with THE BREU CRUE prior to the show. VIP passes include exclusive access to a pre-show party and meet-and-greet with Jim Breuer and special guests, as well as Jim Breuer's "Heavy Metal Comedy" DVD, autographed by the Heavy Metal Man himself.
"Comedy Steel" will kick off THE BREU CRUE's heavy-metal comedy romp around the country, which will stop in several cities throughout the spring. Whether it's Jim's dead-on impersonation of AC/DC's Brian Johnson with a twist, performing "The Hokey Pokey", or James Hetfield of METALLICA in a lively rendition of "If You're Happy and You Know It", the tour will make audiences rock hard and laugh harder!
