JUDAS PRIEST Guitarist Discusses VIOLENT STORM: Audio Available
December 2, 2006A 17-minute audio interview with JUDAS PRIEST guitarist K.K. Downing about his involvement with the latest album from VIOLENT STORM, "Storm Warning", has been made available for download at this location (the interview originally aired on the U.K.'s Total Rock).
VIOLENT STORM is the new band formed by ex-YNGWIE MALMSTEEN/BLACKMORE'S NIGHT bassist Mick Cervino. "Storm Warning" was produced by K.K. Downing (his first production credit outside of JUDAS PRIEST),and features guest appearances by Downing, Malmsteen and Roy Z (HALFORD, BRUCE DICKINSON).
VIOLENT STORM recently announced that Martin Mickels will be joining the band when they tour in 2007. Martin, currently the lead guitarist with Gary Barden's band STATETROOPER, will be playing the parts performed on the album by rock luminaries Yngwie Malmsteen and Downing. Mickels is no stranger to stepping into the shoes of guitar gods — in STATETROOPER he replaced Brian Robertson (ex-THIN LIZZY, MOTÖRHEAD),and regularly plays the guitar parts co-written and performed by Michael Schenker for the MSG tracks performed by STATETROOPER.
