JUDAS PRIEST: We Are Not Playing Spain's METALWAY FESTIVAL

May 12, 2005

Despite published reports to the contrary, JUDAS PRIEST will NOT be headlining the Metalway Festival in Spain in August. PRIEST were previously said to be headlining Day Two (August 13) of the three-day event, while KORN and ACCEPT were scheduled to top the bill on August 12 and August 14, respectively. Other confirmed acts for the festival reportedly include CHILDREN OF BODOM, DIMMU BORGIR, KREATOR, PRIMAL FEAR, OBITUARY, SENTENCED, SODOM, SONATA ARCTICA and W.A.S.P.

Commented JUDAS PRIEST Management Co-Ordinator Jayne Andrews in a recent e-mail, "I do not know why these people are saying that we have broken a promise — we had never confirmed this show!! We were in discussions with [the organizers of the Metalway festival] but it never came together.

"We were originally hoping to come back to Europe after the first leg of our U.S. tour but this is not now possible. Unfortunately these people obviously did what a lot of people do (and shouldn't!!) — even though the possibility of us doing a show was only in the 'discussion stages' they went ahead and announced that we would be on the bill even though we had never confirmed the show — obviously with the hope to sell tickets!! When the negotiations didn't come together they try and blame us whereas they are the people at fault because they should not ever announce any dates until they are confirmed 100 percent!!

"I am going to get our agent on to this and find out what is going on and try and get them to announce an apology to JUDAS PRIEST because we are not at fault!"
