KATAGORY V: New Album Delayed
April 9, 2006Utah-based progressive/power metallers KATAGORY V have had the release date of their new album, "The Rising Anger", pushed back one month to May 23 from the previously announced April 25. A statement from Nightmare Records regarding the delay reads as follows: "Due to some unseen circumstances during mastering and the time frame of when the CD would come out of production, both the band and the label have collectively decided to push the album back one month."
Bassist Dustin Mitchell elaborated: "By the time the album got out of the plant, those who have pre-ordered the album from the label directly, as well as any other vendors offering pre-orders, would not get their copies until the week after the April 25th date. Not to mention that most of press and media would be getting their copies for review about the same time as everyone who bought the album in advance, and we felt that it would be best to hold off on releasing it for one month to allow the media to take a stab at it first, as it should be. The press will have their copies a month prior to the release, and those who have and/or will pre-order the album, will get it on the new release date without any delay. By doing this, both the band and Nightmare Records can rest easier knowing it will be done the right way from the beginning without any chaos involved. The problem in mastering was very minor, and was rectified as quickly as possible. The good news is, Lance (King, Nightmare Records label manager) tells us that the mastered version sounds sonic and HUGE, and is very excited to get this on the shelves for the fans. It's only a month, and these things happen… hopefully we can all hold out that long, as we can't wait for everyone to finally hear this monster! As of right now, the response and demand for the new album coming out has been far beyond our expectations. We are certain it will be worth the extra month wait."
Nightmare Records is currently accepting pre-orders for "The Rising Anger" at this location.
