KATAKLYSM Explains WACKEN OPEN AIR Cancellation
May 25, 2010Canadian extreme metallers KATAKLYSM have been forced to cancel their appearance at this year's edition of the Wacken Open Air festival, set to take place August 5-7, 2010 in Wacken, Germany.
Commented the band: "Unfortunately because of our extremely tight schedule between the new [KATAKLYSM] album, EX DEO's [the side project of KATAKLYSM frontman Maurizio Iacono] European tour, Heavy MTL open air and Ozzfest all jammed together this summer, we just can't make the trip to Wacken this year. The organizers have been kind enough to rebook us for the next Wacken in 2011… of course, if the world still exists, so we apologize to all you maniacs that wanted to see us destroy Wacken this year…you'll have to wait 'till next year!"
KATAKLYSM's brand new album, "Heaven's Venom", is scheduled for release on August 20, 2010 via Nuclear Blast Records. Tentative songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Soul Made of Shrapnel", "Blind Savior", "Hail the Renegade" and "Push the Venom".
The follow-up to 2008's "Prevail", "Heaven's Venom" will once again be recorded by guitarist Jean-Francois Dagenais (MALEVOLENT CREATION, MISERY INDEX) while Tue Madsen (THE HAUNTED, SUICIDE SILENCE, WINDS OF PLAGUE, DARK TRANQUILLITY) will handle mixing duties.
