KATAKLYSM To Play Mexico In January

October 28, 2008

Montreal, Canada's KATAKLYSM has confirmed a show in Mexico City, Mexico for January 16 at the Hard Rock Live. This will mark the band's first appearance in Mexico since 1995.

Commented vocalist Maurizio Iacono: "I think a lot of bands and friends know about the hard times we went through in Mexico in 1995. The crowds weren’t the problem it was the system along with a string of bad-luck situations. Tough times in those days, but after hearing all the great comments from other bands, and the plea from all the crazy fans in Mexico over the last few years, we decided we want to go back. They deserve to see the new KATAKLYSM and the show we give now compared to 13 years ago (it was only our second tour ever!). Plus there's a new generation there that never saw us. We are very excited to eat and drink with you and most importantly give you guys the most punishing show you've ever seen. We are also planning more dates in Central and South America soon so stay tuned in!"

KATAKLYSM recently completed a successful headlining run as part of the second annual "Death By Decibels" tour with DYING FETUS, ELUVEITIE and KEEP OF KALESSIN.

"Prevail", the most recent CD by KATAKLYSM, was honored in the "Album Of The Year" in the "Metal/Hardcore" category at the Quebec Indie Music Awards (GAMIQ),an awards show that recognizes achievements by Quebec independent artists. The event was held on on Sunday, September 21, 2008 at the Corona Theatre in Montreal and was produced by the Quebec Independent Music Association which is also behind the Montreal International Music Initiative (MIMI).
