KAWIR Confirmed For Germany's UNDER THE BLACK SUN Festival

Hellenic pagan/black metal band KAWIR has been confirmed for the Under The Black Sun 2008 festival, set to take place July 4-5, 2008 in Bernau/Helenenau (near Berlin),Germany.

The billing for the Under The Black Sun 2008 festival is shaping up as follows:

KAWIR has just released its new album "Ophiolatreia" via Those Opposed Records. The CD comes in a special digipack, slightly oversized compared to a normal CD, featuring a 12-page glossy booklet.

According to the band's official bio, KAWIR "gathered at 1993 from Mentor (Therthonax),with the purpose to hymn the Ancient Hellenic Pantheon. Kawir means 'powerful' and it's dedicated to the Great Gods (Kawir) of the Kabeirian Mysteries. KAWIR's lyrics are both written and sung in Ancient Greek."

KAWIR is also among the confirmed bands for the SWR Barroselas Metalfest XI, set to take place April 24-26, 2008 in Barroselas, Portugal. Also scheduled to appear are ENSLAVED, ROTTEN SOUND, SATURNUS and BRUJERIA, among others.
