KEEP OF KALESSIN To Perform At Norwegian Jazz Festival

July 16, 2006

Norwegian black metallers KEEP OF KALESSIN, featuring Obsidian C. (a.k.a. Arnt Grønbech, also a touring guitarist for SATYRICON) on guitars/bass/synth, have issued the following update:

"Since the release of the latest album, 'Armada', KEEP OF KALESSIN's reputation has started to grow outside of the metal genre. In fact it has made its way into the Norwegian jazz scene where KEEP OF KALESSIN is recognized by jazz musicians as something new, fresh and with the absolutely best technical finesse.

"Because of this we're very proud to announce that KEEP OF KALESSIN has accepted to play at the Trondheim Jazzfestival together with the duo MONOLITHIC, where the intention is to show the jazz audience a brand new musical concept. The event will take place at Blaest in Trondheim on Friday 1st of September. Both bands will be playing some of their original material, but there will also be made new stuff and even jamming will be included in this unique one-hour set.

"But metal fans, fear not! Because our intention is not to do an unplugged version of 'Armada' or slow down in any way. In fact we are aiming to put a strong metal fist in the face of every jazz fan alive. Expect one hour of blastbeat insanity like you've never seen it before!"

KEEP OF KALESSIN's latest album, "Armada", entered the Norwegian national album chart at position No. 20 upon its release earlier in the year. The CD is the group's first with vocalist Thebon, who made his live debut with the band during their live shows in 2005, including the Eastern European tour with EXODUS and HYPOCRISY in December.
