KELLY KEELING: GEORGE LYNCH Vocalist Checks In From The Road

March 25, 2004

Powerhouse rock vocalist and former Atlantic recording artist Kelly Keeling (BATON ROUGE, BLUE MURDER, MSG, JOHN NORUM),who is currently touring the U.S. as part of guitarist George Lynch's (ex-DOKKEN) solo band, has posted the following message on his official web site:

"Well, I'm writing from a truck stop in Nebraska. We are on a 23-hour run to make it to Wisconsin after playing to another sold out show with YNGWIE [MALMSTEEN]. It's going pretty smoothly. I'm not sure if we'll make it in time for the show, but we'll try. I've started writing again. I guess it happens when I start feeling. This time it's about complete homesickness, of where . . . I don't know these days. I travel and work so much I'm not sure where my roots are. I'm going through so many mixed emotions and there's no other way to deal with it other than writing. So maybe I'll get some songs out of the experiences I'm going through.

"I met Yngwie's nice family today. He has a beautiful son. His wife is very nice as well. His band is some of the nicest people I have met. Great guys, great band, and tour manager Gunge is doing his best to get us good sound check time. It's all working pretty smoothly.

"My label is still mixing [the new solo album] in Germany. Sorry it's taking so long.

"I'll write more as I know it. Hope to see more good friends along the way. So far I've had friends pop up at each show. The band and I are quite surprised. If you need comp tickets and I check my mail in time, I'll see what I can do about getting you on the list."

As previously reported, Keeling recently spent time in Las Vegas recording vocal tracks for the new George Lynch album slated for release in late May or early June on Shrapnel Records. The album will contain 12 classic rock cover songs featuring Keeling's masterful vocals and George Lynch's stylistic guitar renditions.
