KERRY KING, JERRY CANTRELL, DAVE MUSTAINE Featured In 'Live From NAMM' DEAN Webcast
May 31, 2007Video footage taken from Dean Guitars' "Live From NAMM 30th Anniversary" webcast has been posted online at YouTube.
Viewers should be aware that this is not your G-rated, approved-for-work content, as a common theme in all 76 of these clips is underdressed, hot women hanging out at the Dean booth, living the rock 'n' roll lifestyle. The cameras follow one such model, Michelle Marie, as she documents Dean Guitars' 30th anniversary NAMM show, and specifically Dean Guitars founder Dean Zelinksy's three days at NAMM, which includes a constant cavalcade of stars greeting Dean and admiring the all the Deans.
A key clip to watch is when Dean's good friend Kerry King of SLAYER and his wife stop by to see Dean and Kerry is surprised to hear that Dean has a gift for him — a guitar designed by late PANTERA/DAMAGEPLAN guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott. King recalls Dime telling him about the guitar when it was being designed. Production of this one-of-a-kind King V stopped after Dime's death in 2004, but was eventually completed along with a few other projects Dime had sitting on the shelf. Other notable moments are ALICE IN CHAINS guitarist Jerry Cantrell's visit to his friend Dean, as cameras show the two discussing models they are working on. Also, huge SCORPIONS fan John 5 (ROB ZOMBIE, ex-MARILYN MANSON) stops by to check out the Michael Schenker Signature V he used to record one of his latest projects. And don't miss the beautiful Nancy Wilson of HEART, decked out in army greens as she rediscovers her first love and starts designing her next guitar on the spot. Other musicians and official endorsers making an appearance include Dave Mustaine, Vinnie Paul, Rik Emmett, Rudolph Schenker, Leslie West, Rusty Cooley and Kerry Livgren.
