KHOMA Working On New Ideas

May 16, 2007

KHOMA (formerly KOMA) — the Swedish band featuring members of CULT OF LUNA, THE PERISHERS, and the DEPORTEES — has issued the following update:

"The summer is looking quite calm at the moment. Were gonna focus on writing new songs and trying to record. Right now everyone is working on ideas, and we have a few songs that are shaping up. So, we will try to keep you updated as they come to life, and post some new lyrics and the ideas behind it [on our web site]. Hopefully we can play a few shows late summer, but nothing is set yet. If you have any ideas of nice places to go — let us know."

KHOMA released its sophomore album, "The Second Wave", in April 2006 via Roadrunner Records.

Hailing from Umeå, a hotbed of Swedish talent (CULT OF LUNA, REFUSED, MESHUGGAH, (INTERNATIONAL) NOISE CONSPIRACY, etc.),KHOMA was born in 2002. Conceived from a fusion of the long established local hardcore scene and a more diverse, emotive pop scene, KHOMA features the core of vocalist Jan Jämte, guitarist Johannes Persson, and Fredrik Kihlberg on guitar/piano.

KHOMA's debut album, "Tsunami", was issued under the band's previous moniker in 2004.
